Welcome to UA Greek Relief--
The tragedy of the April 27th tornadoes was felt throughout the state of Alabama, the city of Tuscaloosa, and within The University of Alabama Community. Immediately following those tragic events, thousands of members from the UA Community mobilized and responded in the form of cooking over 52,000 hot meals, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars, and by distributing hundreds of thousands of pounds of canned goods, clothes, hygiene supplies, and more. At times, UA Greek Relief was responsible for over 1/3 of the total relief hot meals prepared throughout the city of Tuscaloosa.
For a week, hundreds of UA students and eager volunteers prepared food in the kitchens of Delta Kappa Epsilon, Beta Theta Pi, Phi Gamma Delta, and Sigma Nu, fraternities, and UA Greek Relief received and distributed hundreds of thousands of donated goods. It was the mission of UA Greek Relief to provide immediate relief for the Tuscaloosa Community and to bridge the gap between the immedient needs of the community and the establishment of long term relief agencies.
UA Greek Relief was successful in the its response thanks to the outpouring of thousands of volunteers. However, there is still work to be done. It will take years for the city of Tuscaloosa to rebuild. Through the UA Greek Relief Fund, you can make a difference in the rebuilding of our city. Today, if you are able, please donate to the UA Greek Relief Fund by visiting our "Donate" tab. Your donation dollars will be spent to help rebuild the city of Tuscaloosa. Any size gift will make a difference. Thank you for your generous contributions. Together, we will rebuild our city. Together, we are Tuscaloosa.
